Australian cricketer David Warner has formally announced his retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket, simultaneously concluding his Test career.

Warner confirmed this decision while also expressing the possibility of making himself available for the 2025 Champions Trophy if the Australian team requires his services.

Expressing his thoughts at the SCG, Warner affirmed his retirement from one-day cricket, citing the completion of the World Cup and Australia’s triumph in India as pivotal moments influencing his choice. He highlighted his desire to contribute to other leagues globally while allowing the Australian one-day squad to evolve. However, Warner remained open to the prospect of returning for the 2025 Champions Trophy if his form remains consistent and the team needs his support.

Warner’s final ODI appearance was in the World Cup final against India in Ahmedabad. His impressive ODI career spans 6932 runs at an average of 45.30, including 22 centuries. This decision solidifies his exit from the ODI format, marking the conclusion of an illustrious chapter in his cricketing journey while preserving an opportunity for a potential comeback in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
