As expected, the Barcelona vs Real Madrid ‘El Clasico’ clash will take place in the final of the Spanish Super Cup at the beginning of the year. The Madrid giants thrashed Mallorca 3-0 in the second semi-final of the tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday. Barca and Real will face off in the title race on Sunday.
Real Madrid started their game at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah last night with their usual attacking football. Mallorca goalkeeper Dominique Greif continued to be tested one after another.
Lucas Vazquez, Rodrygo, Ahelia Chuami, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham were unable to score for Real in the first half due to the Slovak goalkeeper’s outstanding determination.

Bellingham broke the deadlock in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Vinicius’ cutback hit Rodrygo’s head post, but Greif was unable to stop Bellingham’s shot. The young English midfielder has scored nine goals in all competitions for Real this season.
Vinicius wasted an easy chance to increase the lead in the 76th minute. The next minute, Rodrygo’s shot was saved by Groyff. In the second minute of added time, Real doubled their lead with an own goal. Three minutes later, Rodrygo celebrated his 24th birthday with a goal from Vázquez’s cross to make the score 3-0.
The latest encounter between Real Madrid and Barcelona on October 26, 2024, in La Liga ended with the Catalan side beating Madrid by a 4-0 commanding win at the Santiago Bernabeu. Barcelona is the most successful team with fourteen titles, followed by Real Madrid with thirteen.
