The International Cricket Council has officially confirmed all 20 teams that will take part in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 — set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
For the first time, the T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams, bringing together the best cricketing nations and some exciting new faces in the world of T20 cricket.
This edition marks the ninth T20 World Cup and will feature the largest lineup of teams in the tournament’s history, reflecting the growing global popularity of the shortest format of the game.
As hosts, India and Sri Lanka automatically qualify for the tournament. They’ll be joined by top-ranked teams like Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the West Indies.
The list also includes teams from across the cricketing world — Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Canada, Oman, Nepal, and the UAE.
Making history, Italy will play their first-ever Men’s T20 World Cup, earning their spot through the European qualifiers.
This expanded format aims to promote global participation and showcase the growth of T20 cricket beyond the traditional powerhouses.
The 2026 edition of the T20 World Cup will be played across multiple venues in India and Sri Lanka. The schedule, venue list, and group draws are expected to be announced by the ICC in the coming months.
